Ingredients: Eggs, olive oil, mustard, caper, olives, lemon, pickled onion, gherkins, parsley, salt, pepper
Try it: as a dipping sauce for beer battered fish & chips, on a crudité platter, in a hot baked potato or simply spread on a sandwich
Derived from the French dish "Tartare", it is named after the Tatar tribe which came from Eurasian Steppe. The Tartar tribe introduced the dish of finely minced meat eaten raw called steak tartar and the sauce used on this became known as Tartar sauce. Widely used for many dishes today, this is a staple for every household.
